Hold the Date for OAMES Summer Camp Covering Hot Medicare & Medicaid Topics
OAMES Summer Camp 2014 will be held June 26 in Columbus at the Quest Business Center. Details for this all-day program are being finalized and we'll begin registration later this month.
The agenda will focus on top Medicare issues that HME providers are grappling with including Medicare audits, documentation details, process changes, rules “clarifications” and other critical information necessary to efficiently and effectively manage your company's Medicare reimbursement.
Here are the highlights:
- Two sessions will be led by the well-respected industry consultant Wayne van Halem of The van Halem Group based in Atlanta. This will be Wayne's first appearance at an OAMES meeting and we're excited to bring him to Ohio. He has an exceptional skill set working on Medicare policies and procedures with a background in data analysis, investigative work, medical reviews, appeals, compliance on both the HME provider side as well as the federal government.
- Missy Cross, OAMES Medicare Workgroup Chair, Region B Council Secretary and past OAMES president, will update us on Council activities and top Medicare issues being discussed at quarterly meetings in Indianapolis with National Government Services (NGS).
- Nina Gregory with the Jurisdiction B DME MAC will provide a two-hour session on the latest developments regarding Medicare audits and other high-level policy issues.
- We'll conclude the day with a session on "MyCare Ohio", the Ohio Department of Medicaid's new integrated program for dual eligible beneficiaries (Medicare/Medicaid) that launched on May 1in 29 Ohio counties over seven geographical regions. The program is expected to serve more than 114,000 Ohio residents. Christi Pepe from the ODM Bureau of Managed Care will be the presenter.
