CMS Releases Fee Schedule for July 1

Late Thursday, CMS finally released the fee schedule amounts that go into effect July 1st. To download files with the new fee schedule amounts, click here.

A preliminary review by AAHomecare shows that the "price changes in rural items shown in CMS' examples range from a 10% reduction for insulin pump rental rates to an 80% reduction for TENS units (contiguous U.S. rates). Among the fifteen products highlighted in the fact sheet, eleven show reductions of 50% or greater versus the 2015 fee schedule.”  Click here for CMS' fact sheet.

As more analysis of the new rates becomes available, OAMES will share it with our members.  We ask our members to keep us apprised of any hardships the new rates are causing you or your customers as we believe there is a serious risk for access issues to develop.  These cuts will be devastating for providers and patients alike in these areas, and ultimately unsustainable for a healthcare infrastructure serving the needs of a growing senior population, as well as people with disabilities and chronic conditions who depend on HME.
