2021 Brings Major Changes to Ohio Medicaid Program! Are You Ready?
Don't Miss OAMES Medicaid Webinars March 17 and March 31
The Ohio Department of Medicaid is making significant changes to the Medicaid program this year. The agency is launching new management information systems and for HME specifically, revising and adding rules targeted for implementation mid-year. To help members be informed and prepared for these changes, OAMES is hosting webinars on March 17 and March 31. We strongly encourage members to sign-up for these training sessions. OAMES Medicaid programs are always important but 2021 brings significant administration and policy changes that you can’t afford to miss.
HME providers should have received a letter from ODM in the last couple of weeks announcing the timeline for the new Provider Network Management (PNM) module and Centralized Credentialing. What is PNM? This is the State’s new management information system replacing the current MITS provider enrollment subsystem and provider portal which will provide updated and new functionality. There are several enhancements in the PNM that are designed to streamline processes and reduce administrative burdens for providers including claims and prior authorization submissions.
ODM, along with the Department of Developmental Disabilities and Ohio Department of Aging, will undertake a phased approach and go-live implementation for the PNM module and Centralized Credentialing projects. The anticipated target date for Phase 1 for PNM and Centralized Credentialing is July 26, 2021; and for Phase 2 for PNM Portal Functionality is December 20, 2021.
OAMES is working closely with ODM staff in the Non-Institutional Policy and Provider Relations Sections to bring you the latest details on these changes in two programs outlined below.
