Latest Supplier Tracking Holds Steady — Data Continues to Show Less than 9,000 Medicare DMEPOS Locations Nationwide

The American Association for Homecare’s quarterly supplier number tracking sheet is now available with January 2023 data. AAHomecare monitors the DMEPOS industry by reviewing the list of Medicare registered suppliers.

The updated tracking sheet continues to show 8,960 traditional Medicare DMEPOS locations across the country, the same number reported last quarter. This indicates that the number of traditional DMEPOS locations decreased by approximately 120 locations this past year. Last quarter was the first time AAH reported a number below 9,000. Overall, their updated analysis shows about a 31% decrease in traditional DME supplier locations since 2013. In Ohio, the rate is slightly more at just over a 37% decrease.
