How Will OAMES Benefit YOU?

Personal Attention

As an OAMES member, you will receive personal assistance with problem solving. The OAMES staff and volunteer leaders have regular contacts with state and national legislators, Medicaid, Medicare, BWC, state and federal agencies and many other stakeholders on issues affecting home medical equipment (HME) services.  OAMES is a resource for all of your staff and is a leader among industry trade associations with a formidable reputation locally and nationally.  Business Information

The OAMES eBulletins are excellent sources for up-to-date industry information and news.  They are published electronically several times monthly and include reports on Medicaid, Medicare, compliance, legal, reimbursement, billing, regulatory and a host of essential management issues for HME professionals.  Periodically, industry Alerts or Call-to-Actions are issued to engage members in urgent matters of critical interest to their companies.  This may also involve working with the customers they serve, the media or the general public.  OAMES works hard to deliver the information your business needs in a timely and cost-effective manner to help your staff operate efficiently and professionally in this rapidly changing, issue-heightened environment.

Discounts on Meetings

OAMES members receive discounts on registrations for all association educational events.  OAMES collaborates twice a year with the Ohio Department of Medicaid (formerly the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services) to host Medicaid Training Seminars exclusively for HME providers.  The association hosts a popular "Summer Camp", a one-day event on pressing issues such as Medicare audits, accreditation requirements, operational issues and other industry topics.  The highlight of the year is the fall Annual Meeting & Exhibition held in the Columbus-area featuring prominent industry leaders and speakers with a popular networking forum including an oustanding exhibit area.  OAMES also hosts audio seminars (teleconferences) as needed on pressing topics.  Continuing education credits are available to meet continuing education requirements of the Ohio HME licensure law and accrediting bodies.

Government Voice

OAMES is your own personal source of information on HME industy laws and regulations. OAMES staff, consultants and volunteers work aggressively and successfully with state and federal legislators and agency representatives to advance the home medical equipment (HME) benefit and trouble-shoot problems that may develop for HME businesses.  As a member, you'll receive timely updates on bills or rules and suggestions on when to make contact with legislators or regulators about issues that affect our business' bottom-line.  OAMES also works closely with member organizations to host site visits with legislators in their communities or hold meetings at the Statehouse to advocate for the HME industry.
