Ohio Department of Health Issues Updated COVID-19 Guidance for Duration of Isolation

The Ohio Department of Health has issued a new health alert which updates the guidance for duration of isolation in tandem with CDC recommendations. The guidance says for most persons with COVID-19, isolation and precautions can generally be discontinued 10 days after symptom onset and resolution of fever for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications and with improvement in other symptoms.

As a reminder, Ohio’s Public Health Advisory System is updated every Thursday.  The system consists of four levels that provide Ohioans with guidance as to the severity of the problem in the counties in which they live. The levels are determined by seven data indicators that identify the risk level for each county and a corresponding color code to represent that risk level.
