2021 Ohio Medicaid Managed Care Annual Open Enrollment Is Underway

 

The Ohio Department of Medicaid's (ODM) annual managed care open enrollment is underway.  The Medicaid agency has provided a number of questions and answers to assist Medicaid recipients and providers.  Please see the following:

What is the difference between the 2021 annual open enrollment and 2022 member transition enrollment?

The 2021 annual open enrollment is the traditional open enrollment time where managed care members are able to explore the managed care plans available through ODM.

The 2022 member transition enrollment is the transition to the new managed care plans that are part of the next generation of Ohio Medicaid's managed care program. In spring 2022, all managed care members will have the opportunity to review and compare the new and continuing plans available in order to choose the plan that is the best fit for them. Additional details and information will be communicated to members in the coming months about the process and timeline for 2022 member transition enrollment.

Where can I direct members who have questions about changing their plan during the 2021 annual open enrollment?

Direct managed care members with questions about the 2021 annual open enrollment to the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline website for additional information. They can also call the Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline at 800-324-8680. Ohio Medicaid managed care members do not have to do anything if they would like to keep their current Medicaid managed care plan. Representatives are available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. They can provide interpreters and explain the annual open enrollment process. The Ohio Medicaid Consumer Hotline will also be making outreach informing all Medicaid managed care members of their choices for open enrollment.
