Governor Kasich’s Administration Introduces 2014 Mid-Biennium Review

The Mid-Biennium Review (MBR) was introduced this week in the Ohio House of Representatives by the Administration.  The bill, HB 472, focuses on four key areas: improving education, cutting taxes, enhancing workforce skills, and helping Ohioans in need.

The legislation proposes to increase the Earned Income Tax Credit from 5% to 15% of the federal credit, allocating $26.9 million from the Master Settlement Agreement to the Ohio Department of Health to support a five-year plan for tobacco prevention and cessation programs. The bill was referred to the House Ways and Means Committee to begin deliberations.
